Conquistador Golf Course is located at 2018 N.
Dolores Road, off Highway 145. Conquistador is a championship 18-hole golf
course with sand traps, water hazards, practice driving range and putting green.
The course features an excellent playing surface and beautiful surroundings that
provide the challenge to make every round of golf enjoyable. The course is the
best value in the region for golf.
The Conquistador has its own personality and stunning panoramic scenery. From
almost any spot on the course one can view La Plata Peak, Mesa Verde, and
Sleeping Ute Mountain. The Conquistador course is mostly flat and lined by
Ponderosa pine and piñon trees. This public course is open March 1 through
November 15 depending on the weather. Tee times are accepted three days in

Water hazards (lakes and creeks) come into play
on eight of the eighteen hole Championship Golf Course, and the small greens are
moderately undulating. The most difficult hole is #5, a 415-yard par 4,
featuring a sharp dogleg left with trees on both sides of the fairway and
requires an accurate approach shot onto the most undulated green on the course.
This course has a reputation for having one of the best greens in the 4 corners
region with consistent speed and true roll it is enjoyable to all players.

A Course Full of Distractions
Keeping your eye on the ball and off the towering peaks surrounding the
Telluride Golf Course may be your toughest challenge when teeing off at this
breathtaking course, perched 9,300 feet above sea level. This par 71 6,739 yard,
18 hole, mountain resort course is surrounded by the highest concentration of
14,000 foot mountains in the United States. While the breathtaking beauty may be
a distraction, the altitude works to your advantage as Telluride's air creates
less resistance against the golf ball during flight, translating to 15 percent
more distance.
The Telluride Golf Course, open from May to mid-October, is located in
scenic Mountain Village at the Peaks Resort. New golf carts, equipped with
state-of-the-art Global Positioning System (GPS), assist golfer as they navigate
their way around the course, which accentuates the mountain terrain as
meandering fairways wind through aspen groves, towering pines, mountain ponds
and sparkling streams.
The Telluride Golf Course was constructed in 1992 and serves as a private club
for members as well as a public course for locals and guests. Private
instruction and clinics are available daily from PGA professionals. Twilight
rates are available after 1 p.m. and sunset rates start at 4 p.m. A full
practice range, complete with chipping and putting greens, is available. There
is also a full service pro shop with clubs and shoes available for rent.
